25.05.2019: Annual ‘Prathishta Varshikotsava’ (Consecretion day) celebration:  a Report:

The Day was celebrated with great fervour & gaiety. ‘Navakaabhishekha’ was performed by Kshethra Thanthri Brahmashri Delampady Balakrishna Thanthri in the morning. This was followed by ‘Tambila’ for Shri. Dhoomavathi Daiva.

A general body of the Jeernodhara Committee was held in the forenoon, before the Mahapooja.
It was presided over by Dr U B Kunikullaya, President. Guest of honour for the Day was Shri. Vishwanath Shetty, Nekraje Guttu, and retired Manager of the Bank of Baroda. The completed works were reviewed. The focus of the discussion was to throw light on the pending works - especially, Granite laying for the Suttambala, Covering with granite tiles the floors of the gopurams, ‘Arikkottil’ (Neivadyashaale), inside the Gudis of Lord Ganapathi, Subrahmanya, Parashurama and also the outer gopurams (which are on either side of the main entrance.

The measurements for these have been done, as also for Dhoomavathi Daivasthanam. A total granite of approx. 10,000 sq.ft. will be needed for this purpose. It was estimated that a sum of 15 lacs has to be generated for this purpose. It was decided to charge ₹ 200/sq.ft of granite (inclusive of labour), with an appeal to generously donate for this cause.

Shri. Vishwanath Shetty made an initial advance for the above scheme by giving a cheque for ₹ 11,000 & also made a cash advance of ₹ 1,000. This was followed by cash advance of ₹ 1,000 each by Temple Trustee and President, Sectetary, Treasurer of the Jeernodhara Committee & the advisor of Mathrusamithi.

Remaining works in the temple were broadly enlisted. The works inside all sanctum sanctorums (including the change of main ‘Paani peetah’ of Shri. Mahadeva and changes for the ‘peetahs’ of ‘Parivara Devas’), Construction of a Gopuram on Temple entrance, Strengthening of the surrounding 12 ft elevated structural walls (including plastering) are the major works inside temple. The building of an ‘Agrashala’ on the northern side of outer suttambalam, with a well equipped kitchen is one of the major projects at hand. The renovation of Naganana, completion of Shri. Dhoomavathi Gudi & Guliggana Katte have to be done.

After the Mahapooja at 1 PM & Prasada distribution, Balivaadukoota Prasada Bhojana was provided for the devotees.
