Though the Temple Jeernodhara Samithi was formed in 1971, it took 11 years of selfless concerted work by all concerned to finally perform the `Brahmakalashothsava` in May 1982.

An Ashtamangala Swarna Prashna from 31-12-1969 to 08-01-1970 was held at Ubrangala temple by renowned astrologer Pudussheri Shri. Vishnu Namboodiri, President of Kerala Jyotishya Parishath. From this, the “Sthala Purana” (detailed local history) was narrated dating back to more than 2000 years. A Renovation committee was formed under the presidentship of Late Shri. U. P. Kunikullaya.

After this, the `Anujna Kalasham` was performed on 08,02.1971 by Late Brahmashri. Delampady Subraya Thanthri in the presence of His Holiness Shri. Shri. Keshavananda Bharathi Swamiji of Edneer Mutt. On 03.03.1971  His Holiness Swamiji of Edneer Mutt laid the foundation stone for the Garbha Griham (Shrikovil) of the temple. On 11.05.1971 His Holiness Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Sringeri Mutt Shri. Shri. Madabhinava Vidyatheertha Shankaracharya Swamiji visited the temple and blessed the venture. The foundation stone for the eastern gopuram was laid on 02.02.1979 by Shri. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shri. Manjunatheshwara temple, Dharmasthala, who also donated liberally for the noble cause. In December 1980 Swamiji of Shri. Ramachandrapura Mutt His Holiness visited the temple and apprecited the ongoing works. In February 1981 His Holiness the Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt Shri. Shri. Vishveshwara Theertha Swamiji and His Holiness the Swamiji of Subrahmanya Mutt Shri. Shri. Vidyabhushan Swamiji also graced the temple and blessed the devotees.

`Shramadaan` (Voluntary) work by Yadava Seva Sangha of Ubrangala, villagers of Ubrangala and nearby villages, staff & students of Agalpady Shri. Annapurneshwari High School helped in a major way in completing the Jeernodhara works. 

In 1980, a comprehensive committee was formed with a view to celebrate `Naveekarana Prathishta Brahma Kalasha` - with Late Dr. P. S. Shasthri as Honarary President & Late Mr. U. P. Kunikullaya as President. 

The Naveekarana Brahmakalasha was celebrated from 17.05.1982 to 27.05.1982. Their Holinesses Shri. Shri. Keshavanda Bharathi Swamiji of Edneer Mutt; Shri. Shri. Vishveshwara Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt; Dharmadhikari of Shri. Manjunatheshwara temple of Dharmasthala Shri. D. Veerendra Heggade; Dharmadhikari of Kateel Shri. Durgaparameshwari temple Shri. Gopalakrishna Asranna graced the occasion. Karnataka Government ministers - Shri. Begane Ramayya, Hon`ble Minister for Panchayath & Rural development; Smt. Manorama Madhwaraj, Hon`ble Minister for Child & Women welfare; Shri, B. Gangadhara Gowda, Hon`ble Minister for Youth & Communication; Shri. B. Bhaskar Shetty, Chief Whip, Karanataka Government - took part in the celebrations on 20.05.1982. Justice Shri. Chandrashekara Menon of Kerala High court; Shri. K.K. Pai, Ex-Chairman of Syndicate bank and Shri. A. Krishna Rao of Syndicate Bank, Manipal visited the temple on 27.05.1982. 

Scholars like Shri. Bannanje Ramacharya, Prof. M. Ramakrishna Bhat, Shri. Venkataraja Punicithaya, Shri. Kayyara Kinhanna Rai, Shri. K. Sham Bhat, Shri. B. Madhava Bhat, Shri. Vidwan Perla Krishna Bhat, Shri. K. S. Sharma, Shri. P. Shankaranarayana Bhat, Shri. Shivanarayana Saralaya, Shri. T. Narayana Bhat, Dr. P. S. Shasthri, Shri. S. Ishwar Bhat, Shri. K. Venkappa Bhat, Shri. K. Subrahmanya Bhat, Dr. Ramanand Banari and others took part in the religious & cultural events during the ceremonies.

The highlight of the cultural events were - Saxophone recital by Shri. Kadri Gopalanath and Yakshagana `Talamaddale` performance, which showcased stalwarts like Shri. Pattaje Venkatramana Bhat, Shri. Kumble Sundara Rao, Balipa Narayana Bhagavatar, Vidwan Perla Krishna Bhat, Shri. Prabhakar Joshi and others.

A commemorative magazine `Shivashakthi` was brought out during the occasion. The editorial board featured literary luminaries like Shri. Kayyara Kinhanna Rai, Shri. Perla Krishna Bhat, Shri. K. S. Sharma Kasaragod, Shri. P. Venkataraja Punichithaya, Shr. Khandige Sham Bhat, Shri. Y. S. V. Bhat Kasaragod, Dr. Smt. Lalitha S. N. Bhat, "Shree Padre", Shri. Y. S. Harihara Bhat, Kajampady Subrahmanya Bhat, Dr. Ramananda Banari and Shri. Gangadhara Bhat Kasaragod. The cover was designed by Shri. `Bala` Madhurakanana. The magazine contained Sanskrit hymns, Ubrangala `Suprabhatham`, Temple `Deva Darshana Vidhi`, Temple history and various articles by scholars.
